About Composing Your Own Wedding Vows
The most important part of the wedding is when you take your vows. It's the entire process come to a head. It should be a romantic and unforgettable moment for the wedding couple. It's the only time during the wedding where the couple can be open and express their feelings to their partner for all the world to hear. Many brides and grooms feel compelled to write their own vows in hopes their words will be remembered forever. There are many good examples of vows online, or you may want to completely wing it. But this is your best chance to tell your chosen one that he/she is the most important person in your life, and that you love them deeply and forever.
Not everyone is a good writer, that we know. Writing good vows and rendering an impressive statement of your love can be tricky. It's not a time when you want to stumble over your words. But wedding vows should come from the heart and how you choose to put it across should be your prerogative. You should prepare forit beforehand; pretend it's a college or high school writing assignment. If you're feeling adventurous it can be spontaneous. This is dicey however and most people will not want to be that glib at the actual ceremony. It might help to read some good vows beforehand to get some ideas- a roadmap to follow so you won't ramble on excessively.
Be sure and put meaning and emotion into your vows to help create an impact. After all, you want everyone to come up to you after the wedding and gush about how romantic and soulful your wedding vows were. But when it comes right down to it, the best words are ones you won't have to write yourself: I do!!
