Celebrity Wedding Buzz
Local boys Matt Damon and Ben Affleck have become megastars, and suddenly Boston has become the hottest movie location in America. And there's only more to come, as Plymouth Studios gears up to become Hollywood East. Where there are movies, there are actors. And where there are actors there is romance, and eventually, a wedding.
If only Tom and Giselle could have had their wedding here in Beantown! So sad! But everyone seems to be interested in what celebrity weddings are like; what bag did she carry? how much were the shoes? how much was the rock? who attended? any paparazzi invasion? Boston celebrity weddings are no longer an infrequent occurrence, and we look forward to learning more.
Here are three recent celebrity weddings that show a little inspiration
Brooke Mueller and Charlie Sheen
Theme: Two Become One With Nature
Charlie Sheen married Brooke Mueller in a nature-themed ceremony, followed by their evening reception. The wedding guests sat at wooden tables with centerpieces filled with apples, pears and oranges. The menus were even festooned with twigs. Finally, guests enjoyed a four-tiered cake with a bird theme.
Beyonce and Jay-Z
Theme: A Heavenly Event
Beyonce Knowles and Jay-Z were joined in holy matrimony at a lavish all-white spring wedding at Jay-Z's New York penthouse. The evening reception was held in the spacious living room, and 70,000 white dendrobium orchids were flown in from Thailand to make the room look divine. Before sitting down for a fantastic seven-course meal, guests (who also were requested to wear all-white) enjoyed , and fried chicken appetizers, caviar, and shrimp.
Ashlee Simpson-Wentz and Pete Wentz
Theme : Alice in Wonderland
When Ashlee Simpson and Pete Wentz got married last year, they took a cue from fairy tale, and wove references into every detail, from the wedding reception site to the food, drink, and decor. The reception was held in a black and red tent filled with ten thousand Black Magic roses. For cocktail hour guests were served drinks in little Drink Me bottles, and waiters offered appetizers on trays decorated to look like playing cards. At dinner the bride and groom sat in giant heart-shaped chairs. And for the centerpieces, rose-filled teapots and saucers decorated the tables to strengthen the natural vibe.
Josh Schwartz & Jill Stonerock
Theme: The Love Story
Josh started by proposing with a plastic ring. "They broke into my car and the real ring was stolen." Jill accepted the temp ring and wore it until jeweler Tanagro remade her 3-carat, cushion-cut diamond sparkling beauty. Stonerock, in an Oscar de la Renta lace gown , created a beautiful ambience with her bridesmaids , all dressed in fairytale gowns of gossamer.The four-tier cake, created by Decadence Fine Cakes & Confections of Buellton, Calif., was frosted with Italian meringue and topped with gardenias and fresh wildflowers.
